Signal Red Consulting is based in Suffolk. We design wiring harnesses for automotive, motorsport and off-highway — with our own software doing the heavy lifting and a deliberate refusal to own a build shop.
Signal Red Consulting is a new firm. It was founded on a specific premise: that the wiring harness design process has stayed essentially the same for thirty years while every other engineering discipline around it has been transformed by better software. CAD design got transformed. Stress analysis got transformed. PCB design got transformed. Harness design did not. It still runs on a spreadsheet of wire lists, a 2D board drawing, a 3D model that the manufacturer builds separately, and a small army of engineers reconciling all three.
We had a different idea about how the data layer should work — single source, schematic and 3D and BOM driven from one underlying model, spec and test plan falling out by construction. We built the software. Then we built the firm around the software.

We do not build harnesses. We do not own a build shop. We hand the design pack to whichever manufacturer you trust — or help you tender for one if you do not yet have one. That neutrality is structural, not a phase. It is part of what we sell.

We work day-in, day-out in three sectors — automotive, motorsport and off-highway. Aerospace, marine and defence we will support on request, but only where there is a Tier-1 partner already holding the relevant accreditations (AS9100, IPC/WHMA A-620 and so on). We are upfront about that because the alternative — claiming accreditations we do not hold — is the kind of thing that wastes everyone's time.
We share an address and some operational infrastructure with our sister brand, Signal Red Studio. The studio runs separately and serves different clients; we mention it here for transparency, not as a marketing claim.
